Breaking: Young defenseman suspended after leaving his opponent bloody.

The National Hockey League's Department of Player safety has just handed down another suspension.

According to an official announcement from the NHL's Department of Player Safety, 24-year-old Ottawa Senators defenseman Frederik Claesson has been suspended two games for his hit to the head of Boston Bruin Noel Acciari.

Unfortunately for Claesson this is now the second round of punishment he will have to face after his hit on Acciari, as immediately following the hit he was challenged by Bruins forward Tim Schaller who delivered a one-sided beatdown to the young defenseman.

Acciari was clearly shaken up on the play and blood could be seen dripping from his face down onto the ice following the blow he received to the head. Here is the NHL's official ruling:
