Things got heated tonight between the American Hockey League affiliates for the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators.

On Saturday night, Belleville Senators forward Brennan Saulnier seemingly snapped during the course of a game against the Laval Rocket and decided to take out his frustrations on Rocket goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo.

It was Kaskisuo who initiated the physical contact when he reached his glove out and appeared to grab Saulnier as he went by the net, a relatively harmless gesture in the grand scheme of things. The response from Saulnier however escalated the situation considerably when the Belleville forward decided to skate around the net and bulldoze through Kaskisuo with his momentum.

The impact would send Kaskisuo crashing down hard on the ice and as you might expect this would lead to mayhem on the ice as players and officials all piled on top of Saulnier.

There could very well be further discipline that will stem from this incident.
