Brian Burke calls rival NHL GM an “idiot.”

It's readily apparent now that Calgary Flames president Brian Burke is very angry.

After spending most of his days throwing cold buckets of water on the blazing fire that has been the Dougie Hamilton trade rumors, Burke let loose in a radio interview this afternoon going so far as to insult a rival general manager. Here's how Burke responded to question about where he believes the rumors came from.

"We don't think it was a Toronto writer that started it, we don't think it was the Toronto Maple Leafs that started it."

So where does he think they came from? Burke's answer was a scathing attack on one NHL general manager who is probably very unhappy right now.

"He will remain nameless for now, but at some point I'm probably going to identify him and say this whole thing started with this one idiot making one phone call."
