The Toronto Maple Leafs will have to face a familiar face on Saturday night, although this time it will be on the other side of the ice.

On Saturday, just hours ahead of facing their division rivals, the Boston Bruins announced a pair of important roster moves. The Bruins announced that they would be moving veteran forward Elias Lindholm to injured reserve, a move that was followed up with a corresponding move involving former Maple Leaf Alex Steeves.

Steeves, who has spent this season with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League, was called up from Providence on Saturday and is expected to make his NHL debut with the Bruins on Saturday night. Not only has Steeves never played for the Bruins at the NHL level but in fact all 14 of his NHL games thus far in his career have come as a member of the Maple Leafs.

Steeves has been off to a good start in Providence and it would be hard to argue that he hasn't earned his call up with 3 goals and 5 assists for 8 points over just 9 AHL games this season.

Steeves will be joined by fellow former Maple Leaf Fraser Minten as both Boston Bruins look to get a win over their former team on Saturday night.
