
Teams can still make trades, but the players are ineligible for the playoffs
This just in, the Boston Bruins and Nashville Predators have hooked up on a minor trade, nearly a week after the NHL's trade deadline.
Of course, because the deal is past the deadline none of these players are eligible to play in the NHL during the 2025-26 regular season or the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

In effect, this is a minor league deal but because these players are signed to NHL contracts it's technically an NHL deal. Again, none of these players are eligible to play NHL games with their new clubs but it's unlikely that they would have even if they were eligible.
