Bruins and Wild make a late night trade with Lauko heading back to Boston
I don't think anyone saw this deal coming!
This just in, according to a report from NHL insider Frank Seravalli the Minnesota Wild and Boston Bruins are working on a deal that will send Marat Khustnidinov and Jakub Lauko to the Bruins in exchange for Justin Brazeau.
From Seravalli:
Lauko, of course, was previously in the Bruins organization before being traded to Minnesota this past offseason for Vinni Lettieri. The 24 year old forward has just three goals and six points in 38 games with the Wild this season.
Khusnutdinov may be the most intriguing player in this deal, or at least the player with the most upside. The 22 year old former 2nd round pick (37th overall in 2020) has just two goals and seven points in 57 games for the Wild tis season, but he was fantastic for SKA St. Petersburg in the KHL as a teenager.
As for Brazeau, the Wild get some serious size with him coming their way. The 6'6", 227 lb winger has 10 goals and 20 points in 57 games and isn't afraid to throw his weight around out there.
Stay tuned for full details of the trade and for confirmation from the teams.
