The good news for the Boston Bruins is that despite losing several key members of their team over the summer, they've managed to pick up right where they left off in last season's record-breaking campaign. Through the first 12 games of the 2023-24 season, they sit in top place in the NHL at 10-1-1.
However, the unfortunate news is that they'll now be without a member of their bottom-six forward lines for the foreseeable future. Morgan Geekie is expected to miss the next few weeks with an upper body injury:
Geekie was injured in Boston's recent 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars, though he was able to complete the rest of the contest. He's been skating on the team's 3rd line with Trent Frederic and rookie Matthew Poitras, and has scored one goal with two assists in the 12 games he's played in.
The Bruins next take on the New York Islanders tomorrow night at Boston's TD Garden.
