Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has been a busy man this afternoon, having already made the call to put defenseman Ian Mitchell on waivers not long after having acquired him from the Chicago Blackhawks in the Taylor Hall trade.
But in addition to the new player on waivers, the Bruins have themselves a new player officially within the organization. They have signed defenseman Jackson Edward to a three-year, entry level contract that carries an AAV of $860,000.
Via the official press release:
"Edward, 19, spent the 2022-23 season with the London Knights of the OHL, totaling five goals and 20 assists for 25 points with a plus-17 rating. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound defenseman skated in 54 games with the London Knights in 2021-22, tallying six assists.
The Newmarket, Ontario native was originally selected by Boston in the seventh round (200th overall) of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft."
