The Boston Bruins may have an opportunity to drop a very familiar player to fans in Boston, defenseman Charles McAvoy.

McAvoy played for the Boston University Terriers this season, and he had a terrific year especially for such a young player at just 18 years of age. McAvoy has been so impressive in fact that some including Fansided's Andrew Thompson, believes he should be the Bruins first pick in the draft.

Charles McAvoy needs to be the Boston Bruins first round pick.

Charlie McAvoy is still placed to go in the middle of the first round. He should still be available to the Bruins at the 14th pick.

In 37 games for Boston University McAvoy put up 25 points, an impressive feat for a rookie defenseman playing against players that were at times several years older. As a defenseman he fills a huge need for the Bruins on the blue line, albeit not immediately, and furthermore he has a connection, a marketable one, to the city of Boston.
