The Boston Bruins have already had more than their fair share of injury woes to deal with this season, as the likes of Brad Marchand, Matt Grzelcyk, and Charlie McAvoy have all missed extended time due to various ailments. The good news, thankfully, is that the team has been able to weather the storm by charging out of the gate with a spectacular 8-1 record so far in the young season.
Unfortunately, the injury troubles for the Bruins are continuing. Right as Marchand comes back to action, another player is now on the shelf. 4th line forward Craig Smith has been ruled out of tonight's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins; he didn't skate this morning during practice at PPG Paints Arena.
According to the Bruins, he's considered "day to day".
“Craig Smith Is out, day-to-day,” said head coach Jim Montgomery. “Upper body.”
In the seven games that Smith has skated in this season, Smith has scored one goal along with two assists.
