The Boston Bruins aren’t undefeated anymore… And they could honestly blame the referees for it.

On Thursday night, the Bruins stopped in Colorado to face the Avalanche, who came up on top with a 4-2 win.

However, the Avalanche didn’t suffer from the same bad luck as the Bruins did. Boston got two goals overturned during the contest, on what we believe are two controversial decisions from the officials.

During the second period, leading 2-1 over Colorado, Karson Kuhlman thought he had managed to beat Philipp Grubauer, but the referees made the decision after the Avalanche challenges for goalie interference that David Krejci was stopping the goalie from doing his job.

Check out what happened:

Then, at the start of the third period, Jake DeBrusk went in to give his team the 3-2 lead, however, the Avalanche challenged again, stating the play was offsides.

The officials agreed with them, overturning the goal. Later in the third period, André Burakovsky gave the Avs their first lead of the game on their way to a 4-2 victory thanks to an empty-netter by captain Gabriel Landeskog.

A tough first loss for the Bruins this season… The Avalanche even dared to give the third star of the game to its video coach Brett Heimlich for correctly identifying the two overturned goals!
