The Boston Bruin stopped short of announcing the return of star forward Patrice Bergeron on Monday morning, but they certainly hinted at the fact that the elite two way forward would be back this evening.

The Bruins are set to face off against the Ottawa Senators on Monday night and if the Bruins lines at the morning skate on Monday are any indication we can expect that Patrice Bergeron will suit up against those Senators. Bergeron has been dealing with an ongoing groin injury and thus far it has already caused him to miss multiple games at different periods of time this season. Bergeron has missed 8 games in a row in this most recent absence due to the injury and the hope is obviously that the Bruins are going to keep him out until he has fully healed this time around.

Previously Bergeron had missed 10 of the Bruins last 12 games due in part to the fact that he appeared to try and come back too early from the injury the first time around. Bergeron has dealt with injuries throughout his entire career and has become known as a player that is more than willing to play through a difficult injury if he is allowed to do so, however at this stage of the regular season the hope is that the Bruins will shut him down for his own good for as long as necessary to ensure that he does not get in his own way here.

In spite of the fact that he has been struggling with the injury however Bergeron is off to another terrific start this season for the Bruins. In the 21 games he has played for the team thus far he has 8 goals and 16 assists for a combined total of 24 points and currently boasts a plus minus rating of +10 on the season.

Here is a full break down of the line combinations the Bruins showed during their practice this morning, including Bergeron skating with the team's top line before facing the Senators.

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
DeBrusk - Krejci - Heinen
Bjork - Coyle - Ritchie
Nordstrom - Kuraly - Wagner

Chara - McAvoy
Krug - Carlo
Moore - Grzelcyk

Update: Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy has now confirmed that Bergeron is officially back in the lineup for tonight's game against Ottawa.
