Bruins officially set new NHL record!

It's official - rumors of the demise of the Boston Bruins that we all heard about prior to the start of this season have been greatly exaggerated. 

Despite fans and pundits expecting them to begin a downward slant and take a considerable backward step this season, they've taken those predictions and tossed them into the Atlantic Ocean. They currently lead the National Hockey League with a pristine 18-3 record, and in doing so have tied an NHL record with 11 straight home victories to start the season. Only the Florida Panthers of last season and the Chicago Blackhawks of 1963-64 have accomplished the feat in the past. 

And now, with their latest 3-2 victory that came yesterday over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, they've made NHL history. They're the first ever team to win their first 12 home games:
