Not the most ideal situation.

While the Bruins were able to take care of business in their most recent game by defeating the white-hot Nashville Predators by a 3-0 score, they suffered what could prove to be a key loss in their line up.

Boston lost right wing forward Austin Brazeau to injury after he collided with Nashville defenseman Luke Schenn in the 2nd period, and he did not return. And based on comments made by head coach Jim Montgomery earlier today, it doesn't sound like he'll be available to play any time soon.

For those who missed the injury, take a look below at the video footage of the incident on Tuesday night:

According to Montgomery, Brazeau is considered "week to week" with his ailment.

“Brazeau flew home yesterday and seeing the doctors today,” Montgomery told the media at PNC Arena on Thursday morning. “We’ll have a real good report for you (Friday) on the severity and length, but it’s week-to-week right now.”

The 26-year-old undrafted forward has appeared in 19 games with the Bruins since being called up from the American Hockey League, and has scored five goals with two assists.

The Bruins take on the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at PNC Arena in Raleigh. With Brazeau unavailable, look for Jakub Lauko to draw back into the lineup. Take a look at tonight's expected line combinations:

Brad Marchand – Charlie Coyle – Jake DeBrusk

Danton Heinen – Pavel Zacha – David Pastrnak

James van Riemsdyk – Morgan Geekie – Trent Frederic

John Beecher – Jesper Boqvist – Jakub Lauko

Hampus Lindholm – Charlie McAvoy

Matt Grzelcyk – Brandon Carlo

Parker Wotherspoon – Andrew Peeke
