The Boston Bruins have not taken a decision regarding David Pastrnak's eligibility for the World Junior Hockey Championships.

The Czech player has been re-assigned to the Providence Bruins in the AHL, in order for him to start his way back from a fractured foot.

General manager Don Sweeney says that a decision will be made by December 28, where frozen roster move ends.

"... We have to wait and see where he's at, as well as where our club is at, health-wise. If we get to the 28th when the roster freeze is up, there's still a chance for him to go. There's also a chance, depending on our health, for him to stay. It's up in the air. ... (Saturday) was his first game back, so certainly it’s about his health first and foremost. But he may be made available at that particular time. He’ll get the benefit of playing a couple games, and then we’ll see from there. (The Czech team) indicated to us that if he is made available on the 28th that they would want him."

David Pastrnak was the 25th overall draft pick of the 2014. He had an amazing rookie season last year with 10 goals and 17 assists, good for 27 points in only 46 games.

He hasn't played since Halloween.
