Bruins suffer a huge loss for the first round of the playoffs.

The Boston Bruins have suffered a tremendous blow to their playoff hopes.

A report from ESPN's Joe McDonald has revealed that the Bruins have lost two players for varying lengths of time, but both injuries are what you would consider devastating.

The most severe injury appears to be to Boston Bruins' defenseman Torey Krug, so serious in fact that general manager Don Sweeney appeared to confirm that Krug would not appear at all in the first round of the playoffs. According to ESPN the GM describe the chances of Krug making it back on time as unlikely.

Futhermore the Bruins are also expected to be without another defenseman in Brandon Carlo for at least the first game of the first round. Of course "at least" means that he could in fact miss more time than just a single game.

Horrible news for Boston.
