Philadelphia Flyers star forward Matvei Michkov may get a warning from the National Hockey League over this one.

On Saturday night, Michkov and the Flyers faced off against the Boston Bruins in preseason action and during the game's third period Michkov may have gotten himself into a little bit of trouble during a totally innocuous looking moment.

There was a brief scrum in front of the Flyers bench at roughly the seven minute mark of the game's third period with Michkov getting a front row seat and looking entirely unbothered during the exchange.

Following the exchange however Michkov appeared to make the questionable decision to give a Bruins player a whack with his stick, although to be fair there appeared to be no ill intent behind Michkov's actions. In fact it was so light a tap that I suspect Michkov was simply showing his appreciation for the brief scuffle that had happened in front of the bench, even helping one of the Bruins recover their glove after it was all said and done.

Here's a look at the replay:

Striking an opposing player from the bench with your stick is of course strictly prohibited in the National Hockey League and as a result I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Michkov will hear from the NHL after this game has wrapped up. That being said I don't expect him to face any discipline given the circumstances, especially not when you consider that this is a meaningless preseason game.
