Can Adrian Kempe become the next superstar for the Kings?
Keystone Press

When the LA Kings announced their roster for the 2017-2018 NHL regular season there were a lot of new faces. Players like Alex Iafallo and Oscar Fantenberg were pretty unknown to many hockey fans. Another newer addition who was more known among Kings fans is Swedish forward Adrian Kempe. I know it is early but the LA Kings seems to have struck gold with Kempe.

Kempe is the example of a player who was not rushed and was properly developed. When he was drafted 29th overall in 2014 by the LA Kings, many scouts and analysts were saying that he was one of the prospects that was the most NHL ready but the Kings did not act quick. Kempe spent time in the AHL with the Ontario Reign and put up some decent numbers. He also played 25 games with the Kings last season and now is in full gear for his first full length campaign. Kempe currently has 7 points in 9 games and is showing that he is a flashy, crafty and smart winger with speed and agility. Do not be surprised if Kempe becomes a cornerstone forward for the LA Kings.
