Canada showcases lineup 1 day before the World Juniors.
The Canadians hit the ice on Christmas day and provided a preview of what their lines will look like at the World Juniors.
The Canadian men's hockey team will have a ton of pressure on their shoulders as they enter the World Junior Championship, set to kick off this week, with Canada boasting a host of young National Hockey League talent on their roster.
Over the weekend Hockey Canada unveiled their leadership group for the upcoming tournament but Monday was the first time we got a glimpse of what the team might actually look like. The Canadians hit the ice for their first practice in Gothenburg on Monday and showed off 4 forward lines and 3 defensive pairings, likely the ones they will use to kick off the tournament when they take on Finland on Tuesday.
Of course given the unpredictable nature of these tournaments all of these lineups are subject to change prior to game time, but that being said here's how the lineup looked during practice on Christmas Day:
Forwards:
Minten - Geekie - Dumais
Cowan - Poitras - Savoie
Yager - Celebrini - Wood
Allard - Beck - Danielson
Rehkopf
Defensemen:
Mateychuk - Lamoureux
Furlong - Bonk
Donovan - Warren
Goaltenders:
Rousseau
St-Hilaire
Ratzlaff
There was one additional detail, an important one, the absence of Ty Nelson which was reportedly caused by a travel delay on Monday.
