UPDATE: Canadian hockey fans are cancelling their subscriptions to Sportsnet so quickly that they actually crashed Rogers' billing system today.

The entire Sportsnet website and app seems to be going in and out of service due to the amount of angry hockey fans cancelling their subscriptions. At this rate, Sportsnet is going to need a 100% increase in order to recoup the losses from everyone leaving. Someone messed up BIG time.

Furthermore, if you read any of the comments on ANY of their social media posts today, it's full of angry responses.

Hockey fans in Canada are absolutely LIVID at exclusive NHL rights holder Sportsnet for a whopping 30% increase in their streaming services for the 2025-26 season.

Sportsnet+ users were greeted with an email today that announced an increase from $249 to $324 for the upcoming season.

A 5% or 10% increase I could see them getting away with... but 30 freaking percent!?

Yeeeeeesh!

The justification for this increase? There must be a ton of new features, right?

Nope. No new features. Just pure gouging from Rogers... go figure.
