The Leafs cut him loose earlier today.
UPDATE 2: According to Vancouver Canucks insider Satiar Shah, the Canucks are interested in signing Kampf tomorrow should he clear waivers.

UPDATE: It's official, Kampf is on waivers.
David Kampf's time with the Toronto Maple Leafs is officially over.
The Leafs have placed the forward on waivers today, if he clears by tomorrow then his contract will be terminated and he'll become an unrestricted free agent.
The Leafs were unable to find a suitor for Kampf on the the trade market and the player himself was unwilling to accept an assignment to the AHL's Toronto Marlies so this was the only real way forward. By terminating his contract Kampf is walking away from $4.8 million and some job security. It remains to be seen if he sticks in the NHL with another team, but my money is on him returning to his home country of Czechia.
Stay tuned.
