The Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Stars completed a huge trade today on Tuesday, but it appears that there were other NHL teams involved.

TSN insider Bob McKenzie has reported that the Calgary Flames attempted to make a similar move to acquire Bishop, however it is his belief that Bishop, who will be a free agent on July 1st, preferred to go to the Dallas Stars.

Lending credence to McKenzie's report is Sportsnet insider John Shannon who is now reporting that Bishop in fact had a limited no-trade list. According to Shannon one of the names on that list was that of the Calgary Flames, giving Bishop the power to effectively block that deal.
