Canadiens open training camp with some troubling news

The Montreal Canadiens officially open their 2023-24 training camp today, but veteran defenseman Chris Wideman will not be in attendance. The team announced earlier today that Wideman is out of the lineup indefinitely with a back injury.

The 33 year old had six assists and 81 penalty minutes in 46 games for the Canadiens last season. He's entering the final year of a two-year, $1.525-million contract.
