Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck has been ejected from Game 2 of the Ontario Hockey League final.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck has made his presence felt in the Ontario Hockey League final with his physical play, but on Saturday night the officials felt he crossed the line when he delivered a hit to Denver Barkey of the London Knights.

Beck delivered the hit to Barkey in Game 2 of the final and was immediately whistled down for a penalty, but after some consultation the officials on the ice determined that Beck had struck Barkey in the head during the course of his hit.

Beck was awarded a 5 minute major for a hit to the head and was tossed from the game as a result of his actions.

Although the situation is less than ideal for Beck and his team, the hit didn't look particularly malicious. As a result, the Canadiens will no doubt be far more satisfied with their second round pick (33rd overall) at the 2022 NHL Entry Draft using his body to have an impact on the game than they will be upset at him potentially stepping over the line.
