The Vancouver Canucks have announced a minor signing on Friday.

According to a report from the Canucks official website, the team and 24-year-old left winger Joseph LaBate have agreed to terms on a new one-year deal, and furthermore the Canucks have revealed that it will be a two-way deal.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed but general manager Jim Benning released the following statement:

"Joseph provided a physical presence to both lineups in Vancouver and Utica last season," said Benning. "He's a big, strong player and provides further depth to the forward group within our organization."

After spending the first three years under contract in the American Hockey League, Labate finally got a break last season when he appeared in 13 National Hockey League games for the Canucks.
