Canucks unveil the team's first jersey sponsor
The Vancouver Canucks had some big news to share on Saturday, much to the disappointment of their fans.
The Canucks have officially unveiled the organization's first ever jersey sponsor, a partnership with TD Bank Group that will extend at least through the course of this current season. As has often been the case with these announcements, fans do not love the idea of having their beloved jerseys tainted with ads and that holds true here with the announcement from the Canucks being widely panned on social media.
That being said, I have to admit that this is one of the better implementations of the jersey patch that I have seen, with the color scheme of both the team and the sponsor matching up fairly well. While that won't likely be winning any fans over to the idea that believes these sponsorships are a tasteful addition to the jerseys, it looks much better than some of the hideous sponsor patches we have seen around the National Hockey League.
