Canucks General Manager Jim Benning has made it clear he's not gonna panic and rush out to replace Bieksa following the news that the blue liner will be out indefinitely. In fact Benning even went one step further and said that they will not be looking to make any kind of move at all to replace the loss of the man who ranked 2nd among Canucks defensemen in ice time.
“Not going to go out and get anybody.”
Apparently one of the major reasons for Benning's confidence in his current line up is the play of 21 year old Frank Corrado who had the Canucks only goal in Tuesday's loss to the Lightning. It was Carrado's only point in his 4 games with the club, but apparently Benning feels confident enough to give him a bigger role defensively. Only time will tell if Benning is making the right call.
