Canucks goaltender Arturs Silovs kicks off post-game brawl.
A wild and chaotic scene on Saturday night after Arturs Silovs makes it clear he won't be messed with.
Although the season for their respective National Hockey League teams is already over, both the Vancouver Canucks and the Dallas Stars are still in the playoff mix when it comes to their American Hockey League affiliate teams.
On Saturday night, the Abbotsford Canucks and Texas Stars went head to head in Game 2 of the AHL's Western Conference Final and it would prove to be a game in which the Canucks would take a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Stars. The Canucks were led by another very solid performance from goaltender Arturs Silovs, who fans will remember after he played 10 games for the Canucks at the NHL level this past season.
Silovs recorded his 5th shutout of the playoffs to completely shutdown the Stars but the 24 year old Latvian netminder was the star of the game in more ways than one. Not only did Silovs hold down his net during the game itself, but he would also do so after the game had concluded as well.
After Silovs had secured the shutout, Stars forward Kole Lind would attempt to get up in Silovs face but the Canucks goaltender was having none of it. Silovs, seemingly not the least bit intimidated by Lind, got right up in his face and even delivered something of a headbut that caused Lind to crumple to the ground. Although this interaction lasted only long enough for the blink of an eye, the chaos that erupted as a result of this little encounter would go on for several minutes.
