Canucks insult Bruce Boudreau one final time in front of their fans.

Unbelievable.

Jonathan Larivee

The situation in Vancouver has deteriorated to a point that I may have never personally witnessed in all my years covering the sport of hockey.

The treatment of Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau has been nothing short of appalling, and it has become abundantly clear that this is a sentiment shared by the overwhelming majority of outside observers as well as by members of the Vancouver Canucks' fan base.

Given the way that fans feel about the uncomfortable situation Boudreau finds himself in, it came as no surprise to hear them paying tribute to Boudreau on Friday night when the Canucks welcomed the Colorado Avalanche to town. Fans in attendance shouted "Bruce there it is" in honor of the beloved head coach, something it appears the Canucks themselves may not have liked too much.

The Canucks would add insult to injury on Friday night during the loudest of those chants, with Canucks reporter Daniel Wagner reporting that the Canucks attempted to drown out the chant by playing 'Sweet Child O Mine' over the loudspeakers.

TSN reporter Farhan Lalji appeared to echo the report from Wagner when he indicated that the crowd had become completely apthetic by the end night in response to Wagner's report regarding the Boudreau chants.

"The end of that game reeked of complete apathy. From both teams, the crowd, all of it," wrote Lalji.

Somehow this ugly situation continues to get uglier, and I doubt this latest revelation is going to be bringing any fans or pundits over to the Canucks side of the dispute.
