Canucks lose yet another defenseman to injury, and it may be long-term.

The Vancouver Canucks suffered yet another loss on defense and the prognosis thus far isn't good.

The Canucks Ben Hutton sat out Saturday's loss to the Calgary Flames, but the news on Monday made it sound like he may be missing a lot more than that. Head coach Willie Desjardins would not give a specific prognosis to the public but did admit that Hutton would be "out for some time."

It's the latest in a series of injury issues on the blue line for Vancouver, an issue that forced them to play with just 5 defensemen in the line up on Saturday, and it now seems like one that will be afflicting them for the long-term.

Canucks insider Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province is reporting that Andrey Pedan will be called up from the American Hockey League in relief.
