Canucks making agressive push for veteran, BC native defenseman.

The Canucks are looking to rebuild into a contending team, there's no secret. However, building a team from scratch would be close to impossible in this league and you still have to hire veteran players to teach your rookies the ropes of the league. 

According to rumors, the Canucks might be making a push for Karl Alzner and Jordan Weal. 

Weal wouldn't change a lot of things in Vancouver, as he had trouble cracking the regular lineup in L.A. in the previous seasons. However, Alzner would bring a lot of stability to the Canucks' defensive squad. A reliable stay-at-home type of defenseman, he still has a lot of hockey left in the tank. Add to his resume the fact he's from Burnaby, BC and you might get a decent match.
