Earlier this week, the Vancouver Canucks signed forward Alex Chiasson to a one-year, $750,000 contract.
The veteran forward spent the preseason with the club on a professional tryout. He played the last three seasons with the Edmonton Oilers and netted nine goals with seven assists over 45 games in 2020-21. And now he’s here to boost the Canucks’ offense, which he did as soon as Friday night when he scored on the power play.
Maybe now that he scored his first goal with the team, the Canucks can spell his name right.
That’s correct, the Canucks misspelled Chiasson’s name on his jersey and while they might have wanted it to go unnoticed, Chiasson scored a goal and the camera was straight on him, displaying the mistake.
Well, you know, whatever works.
