Jake Virtanen is going through some difficult things right now.
After a greatly disappointing performance at the WJHC, Virtanen is being blame publicly because of his lack of discipline and productivity. With 1 assist only in 5 games, Virtanen was supposed to bring maturity to this team, but failed to do so.
CEO of Hockey Canada, Tom Renney blamed this edition for his lack of discipline,and argues that a more discipline squad could've gone farther in the tournament. Virtanen had two penalties on the same shift during a power-play for Canada, opening the door for Patrick Laine's game-winning goal for Finland.
