Canucks take a huge hit, lose two players to severe injuries.

These are two significant injuries, and this could have a direct impact on the playoff picture in the Western Conference.

First the Canucks revealed that Brandon Sutter suffered a fractured jaw, and as a result has been sent back to Vancouver for treatment, there has been no timetable provided for Sutter's return. Sutter has only played 20 games for the Canucks all season.

However arguably the bigger loss is defenseman Alexander Edler, Edler currently leads all Canucks on the blue line with 20 points. The Canucks revealed on Wednesday that Edler suffered a fractured fibula, no timetable has been provided for his return.

These injuries could have a major impact on their battle for a playoff spot, and could lead to the Canucks selling prior to the deadline.
