The Capitals bring back the screaming eagle with a brand new look.
The Washington Capitals are bringing back an old classic and fans seem to be thrilled at the concept.
On Monday morning, the Capitals put out a pretty big teaser that indicated that the screaming eagle would be making a return. That teaser came in the form of a short video on social media that featured a screaming eagle flickering in and out of view, before today's date pops up on the screen.
You can see that teaser video just below:
A few hours later the Capitals would release a second video in which they clearly showcased the new look that they will be bringing back for the 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season, one that looks like a combination of their current jersey with the old screaming eagle logo.
The video shows a number of angles of the screaming eagle before eventually fading away and showing the team's captain, Alex Ovechkin, standing in front of a camera with the brand new jersey wrapped around his body.
Here is that second video:
The Capitals have also released a number of still images to show off the new jersey and, I've gotta be honest, I think they look incredible. I fully expect that we will be seeing a ton of these jerseys during Capitals home games this season.
Just because I love them doesn't mean you do however and I can't wait to see what the rest of you think of this new jersey in the comments.
