Let us remind you that Daniel Briere’s son has been suspended from his hockey team.

On Tuesday night, a video featuring Philadelphia Flyers interim GM Daniel Briere’s oldest son Carson tossing a wheelchair down a flight of stars at a party. No one was sitting in the wheelchair as the woman using it had gotten out and the wheelchair was at the top of the stairs as she was carried down to the bathroom.

Carson Briere, who just completed his third season with the Mercyhurst University men’s hockey team, made a statement on Wednesday, which read: “I am deeply sorry for my behavior on Saturday. There is no excuse for my actions, and I will do whatever I can to make up for this serious lack of judgment.”

His father, GM Briere, also reacted to the ‘disturbing video’ and his son’s unacceptable actions, stating: “I was shocked to see Carson’s actions in the video that was shared on social media yesterday. They are inexcusable and run completely counter to our family’s values on treating people with respect. Carson is very sorry and accepts full responsibility for his behavior.”

While we heard from the Brieres and Carson was consequently placed on interim suspension, along with two teammates, pending the results of an investigation, we hadn’t heard from the victim in this whole ordeal.

On Thursday, his victim, Sidney, took to social media to comment on the incident. While a GoFund page was put up to help her with the fees for a new wheelchair, the woman is kindly saying she won’t keep a cent from the donations and will rather give it to those who need it.

“Hi im Sydney and it was my chair that was pushed down the stairs. I’m so thankful for all of Sullivan’s help in this situation and the kind comments I see on Julia’s post. I swear I really don’t wanna keep a cent of the donated money, I’d much rather give it to those who need it.”

Carson Briere came to Mercyhurst in 2021 from Arizona State because he was in trouble there. He and a teammate were kicked off the team for violating club rules for partying too much.

He clearly didn’t learn his lesson, but maybe the fact that he now disrespected such a wonderful and kind woman will get him to face the consequences and make a change for the best.

We bet his father Daniel Briere will make sure of it.
