Some fans aren’t happy to see the two goaltenders linked…
A new playoff milestone has quietly rewritten a piece of Vegas Golden Knights history, but some fans picked up on it and aren’t thrilled about it.
With his latest postseason victory, Carter Hart recorded his 13th win of the playoffs, tying franchise icon Marc-André Fleury for the most playoff wins in a single postseason in Golden Knights history.
It’s a statistical marker that places Hart alongside one of the most recognizable and beloved figures in franchise history.
Fleury, the original face of the Golden Knights during their early rise, set the standard for postseason goaltending in Vegas with deep playoff runs and trademark clutch performances. His name has long been synonymous with the team’s identity in high-pressure moments.
Now, Hart has matched that benchmark in his own way. The 13-win total underscores just how deep Vegas has gone in this postseason run, with Hart handling a heavy workload between the pipes as the team continues its push through the playoffs.
However, some fans are having issue with Hart as part of the organization and made their feelings known whe commenting on the record. Among the reactions were comments such as:
“The whole championship will be tainted,” replied one.
“Win or lose, that’s a stain the organization wears forever,” added another.
That’s because, Hart and players Michael McLeod, Dillon Dubé, Cal Foote, and Alex Formenton were charged in connection with an alleged 2018 incident in London, Ontario Hart and the four other former Canadian World Junior hockey players were found not guilty of sexual assault by an Ontario Superior Court judge on July 24, 2025. He was signed later on by Vegas.
During Game 1 against the Hurricanes in Carolina, a group of fans in the upper deck could be heard chanting “No Means No” at Hart.
For Fleury, the record stood as part of his lasting legacy in Las Vegas. For Hart, it now becomes part of his present reality and potentially, a stepping stone toward something even bigger depending on how far the Golden Knights go. Whether fans like it or not.
