Don Sweeney has a plan to rebuild this team into an offensive powerhouse with a strong defensive back-up. Looking at the training camp roster right now, one could conclude such an idea. In fact, one might assume that they’re going after skill more than just merely grit with their roster.

Forwards Austin Czarnik, Danton Heinen, Jake DeBrusk and Sean Kuraly, as well as defensemen Brandon Carlo and Rob O’Gara are still in camp. Chances are that they’re not around to just fill in the gaps in the two final preseason games. They’re around because they are legitimate contenders for a job with the Spoked-B.

The Boston Bruins may take up the ice with a few new players, and introduce properly to the major league. But only those who earned their spot can take up such a challenge.

It’ll be interesting to see Sweeney’s direction and philosophy with regards to the Boston Bruins.
