McAvoy's nightmare season of injuries continues.
The Boston Bruins season may have already come to an end, but what has been a nightmare season of injuries for Bruins star defenseman Charlie McAvoy is unfortunately not over.
On Sunday, McAvoy revealed that he had suffered yet another serious injury over the course of the Bruins opening round series against the Buffalo Sabres, a broken hand. According to McAvoy, he suffered the injury at some point in Game 2 which means that he played through several games with what anyone would consider a major injury.
McAvoy will no doubt be happy to put this season behind him with the 28 year old Bruins defenseman appearing in just 69 games this season due to another serious injury. We all remember how McAvoy's face essentially exploded when he was struck in the face with a puck earlier this season.
That incident saw Montreal Canadiens defenseman Noah Dobson wind up a full swing for a slap shot from the blue line, only for McAvoy to block that shot with his face in terrible looking fashion.
There's no question that McAvoy has more than earned his time off to rest and recover, and I do wish him a full and speedy recovery after such a difficult season for his body.
