With their first preseason game together under wraps, both David Pastrnak and David Backes were part of a combined effort that gave the Boston Bruins the win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Head Coach Claude Julien also returned behind the bench the first time this preseason to guide his troops to victory.

Danton Heinen scored in the first period, assisted by Backes, whereas Pastrnak scored twice in the second to propel the Bruins forward. Backes was also credited with aiding Pastrnak with his goals.

Taking into consideration that all three played together for the first time, the chemistry that developed between the Bruins’ top line, Pastrnak, Backes, and Heinen, was evident in yesterday’s game. Together, the line amassed a total of seven points, and was responsible for all three goals scored in regulation.

Jake DeBrusk ultimately won the game in shootouts, giving the Bruins a 4-3 victory over the Flyers.
