Chicago Blackhawks announce decision on Andreas Athanasiou
The speedy forward just completed his first year in Chicago.

Speedy forward Andreas Athanasiou, who just completed his first season with the Chicago Blackhawks after agreeing to a free-agent deal, will be back for a second (and third) season in the Windy City.
Earlier this afternoon, it was announced that the Blackhawks have re-signed him to a two year contract with a cap hit of $4.25 million.
Athanasiou scored 20 goals with 20 assists in 81 games played last season, along with a -29 plus/minus rating.
Drafted in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Detroit Red Wings, he's appeared in a total of 459 NHL games and racked up 125 goals and 111 assists while playing for Detroit, the Edmonton Oilers, the Los Angeles Kings and Blackhawks.
