Chicago Blackhawks unable to hold unto puck against Detroit Red Wings
Chicago Tribune

The Chicago Blackhawks lost yesterday’s preseason game against the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 6-3.  With the Red Wings scoring 3 goals in the first 10 minutes at home at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, the Hawks struggled to gain control of the puck, leaving possession with the Red Wings for the majority of the match.

Chicago was able to squeeze in a goal per period starting with 19-year-old prospect, Alexandre Fortin. The 6', 175lb left winger was able to get past Petr Mrazek with a breakaway goal on the lower left side of the net.  Dennis Rasmussen picked up a rebound to deliver a beautiful no look goal in the 2nd period, and Brandon Mashinter grabbed the loose puck leading to an unassisted breakaway goal in the 3rd period.

The Chicago Blackhawks will face off once more against the Detroit Red Wings for a chance at redemption tomorrow.  Puck drops at 8:30 PM ET at the United Center in Chicago.
