Wow... now THAT'S something I never thought I'd see.
The NHL preseason is full of, "Oh, right... he plays for THEM now," moments.
It's the time of year where we'll all reminded of who signed with who or who was traded this past offseason. Case in point, let me remind you that longtime New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider has joined former Rangers captain Jacob Trouba with the Anaheim Ducks.
That's weird, right?
You know what's even weirder?
It's also the season where we're all reminded of our own mortality because there's always a story about the son of a former NHLer breaking into the league. Typically, when we learn about these youngsters it's paired with a feeling of, "Wait... wasn't his Dad like JUST in the NHL recently?"
Cue Tig Iginla.
The Utah Mammoth forward and son of Hockey Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla made his preseason debut yesterday evening and ended up getting into a bit of an altercation with Kreider during play. While the quarrel wasn't all that involved, it was an odd moment to be sure. After all, Kreider played a full six seasons against Jarome and now here he is playing against his son... albeit as a member of the Ducks.
Just a bizarre situation all around.
