It was a tough night for the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday when they took a loss at the hands of the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets. However no one had a tougher night that Ducks forward Chris Stewart, who lost a fight to Blue Jackets defenseman Dalton Prout, and then some.

The two men spent considerable time grappling for position early on and it didn't seem like there was going to be much action, but eventually Prout was able to get enough leverage to deliver a stiff punch directly to the jaw of Stewart, one that left his mouth bloody.

We didn't know it at the time, but according to a report from Adam Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch today, Stewart's mouth was bloody because he suffered a broken jaw during the fight. Nothing official yet from the Ducks so no word on how long this could keep him out of the line up.
