Chris Wagner flexes on Brad Marchand after failed hit in practice.

He only hurt his pride.

I could not help but chuckle at the antics of Boston Bruins forward Chris Wagner on Saturday.

Every team in the National Hockey League is currently participating in a condensed training camp that will see players participating in meaningful playoff games just one week from the time of this writing, and that means that the intensity at those camps has picked up considerably. It is no coincidence that we have seen players taking some injuries in recent days, but in this case the only thing injured was another man's pride.

On Saturday Wagner was involved in a collision with teammate Brad Marchand and I think it is safe to say that this was no accidental collision. In fact it looked very much like Marchand was attempting to line up his teammate for a relatively minor body check on the play but either Wagner saw it coming or the hit from Marchand was so light that the 29 year old Bruins veteran was barely phased by the impact. Unfortunately the same could not be said of Marchand who looked very much like a man that had just skated into a solid wall, stumbling backwards after the hit and eventually falling to his knees as he was unable to maintain his balance.

I'm not sure if Wagner is the man that we can hear yelling in the video but at the very moment that Marchand falls down to his knees right in front of Wagner you can hear an audible yell of "Oh" from somewhere at Warrior Ice Arena. I assume it was Wagner however because that yell was also quickly followed by a flex from the Bruins winger, clearly attempting to indicate his superior physical strength over that of his teammate.

It was a hilarious moment between two teammates that are competing hard against one another in their efforts to achieve an amazing common goal, the Stanley Cup.
