The Chicago Blackhawks are rounding into form. Considering how much hockey they have played in the past years with their 3 cup wins, you figured at some point it would catch up to them. It seemed like maybe it did at the start of the season. Combined with an injury to Duncan Keith, people were wondering if the defending champs were having a Cup hangover. Then things changed.
Patrick Kane went on a 26 game point streak, claiming the franchise record and leading the league in points. Newly arrived Artemi Panarin seemed to have instant chemistry with Kane and has been a big part of helping Kane record that great point streak.
Speaking of Panarin, he has quietly taken the rookie points lead with 31 points in 36 games. He is tied for second in goals and leads all rookies with 21 assists. Yet another great find by the Hawks. No matter how many times they have to let players go due to rising salaries, they are always able to find great replacements.
So what does 2016 hold for the Hawks? We all know what they are capable of. Corey Crawford has been great in between the pipes and with the team starting to pick up their play, we might yet see another run to the Cup.
Let's go Hawks!!
