The Jets playing the toughest division by far and sometimes that can be hard. Constantly playing some of the best teams in the league.

Last season was almost like a fairy tale, the Jets made the playoffs and returned playoff hockey to Winnipeg where it belongs. The fans were incredible and the MTS Centre was rocking. Unfortunately things aren't going so well this season. The Jets are currently in last place in the Central division and even though they have a decent record of 9-5-1 at home, it is their bad record of 6-12-1 away from the great fans of Winnipeg. To be a success in the NHL, you have to be good on the road. It is rare for a team that isn't at least .500 on the road to make the playoffs. It can happen, but then you better be almost perfect at home.

Blake Wheeler is having a great season so far with 35 points in 34 games. but unfortunately he is one of the rare bright spots. The team is averaging more than 3 goals a game against and that has been a factor as to why they havent been able to win on the road. It is tough to be down by a few goals and obviously if you are averaging more goals against than for, that will translate into losses.

We know the Jets are a hardworking team and they never give up. It just seems like things havent really been going their way. Has all the talk of the upcoming free agents and other rumors finally started to affect the team? When 4 of your top guys are constantly being mentionner in rumors, it is tough to get past sometimes.

So what is in store for 2016? The Jets will have a ton of work to do If they want to return to the playoffs. And will it be the last season we see pending free agents Dustin Byfuglien and Andrew Ladd in a Jets uniform? And what type of contracts will pending restricted free agents Jacob Trouba and Mark Scheifele earn themselves? And what if some of those players want too much and Jets management decide they are better moving them? There are many questions that will get their answers in 2016, let's just hope they are the answers we want or hope for.
