It felt like the Edmonton Oilers knew in the third period of Game 6 of the final against the Florida Panthers that they weren’t going to win the Stanley Cup. Forward Evander Kane started losing his temper and having a hissy fit on the ice, swinging his stick at Panthers’ Matthew Tkachuk and attempting to injure him. Kane was therefore given a misconduct and was ejected from the contest.

When the final buzzer went off and Florida defeated the Oilers 5-1, heartbroken Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl waited for the Panthers to let go of their embrace and lined up wtih their teammates for the traditional handshake.

But Kane did not come out of the tunner to join them in the line. Many pundits and insiders noticed how the Oilers’ forward showed classless disrespect for the winners and he has since been called out and getting a lot of heat for his terrible decision on social media.

Other fans called him a scumbag and a man-child, which is fitting for different reasons. Don’t act so surprised reading this: Kane is a controversial player on and off the ice and his classless actions from last night should not stun anyone, though they remain unacceptable.

Edmonton loss in the Stanley Cup Final for the second year in a row. Canada’s Stanley Cup drought has reached 32 years dating to the Montreal Canadiens back in 1993.
