Coach Sullivan chooses his goaltender for Game 4

The Pittsburgh Penguins will reportedly turn to back up goaltender Tristan Jarry tonight with their season on the line against the Montreal Canadiens.

This is obviously a HUGE change and, frankly, it's the change that fans have been calling for since the puck dropped on the Qualifying Series. Murray, of course, gave up an unfortunate goal late in the third period of Game 3 that ultimately cost the Penguins the game. The 26 year old Murray's stats look good through three games this postseason, but it's his penchant for giving up costly goals at inopportune times that has really hampered him and the Penguins in their series against the Habs. On paper he sports a 2.15 goals against average and .914 save percentage. Not bad, not bad at all. But when you give up a go ahead goal like this...

Ouch.

Now, it's up to the 25 year old Surrey, BC native Jarry to get the Penguins back on the winning track. The 6 foot, 2 inch, 200 pound goaltender put up a sparkling 2.43 goals against average and incredible .921 save percentage in 33 games with the Penguins this season and established himself as a legit 1B option to Murray. Are we aboout to see the passing or the torch from Murray to Jarry, much like was saw in 2016/2017 when former Pens goalie Marc Andre Fleury passed the torch to Murray. The Pens' entire season counts on it.
