The Montreal Canadiens have just announced some devastating news.
According to an official report from the Habs, Canadiens star forward and fan favorite Cole Caufield will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a serious shoulder injury. The injury is to Caufield's right shoulder and it will require surgery to repair, but there has been no timeline laid out for his recovery.
The Canadiens have indicated that another update will be provided after Caufield goes under the knife, when the team will likely have a better idea of how long he will need to recover from this injury.
The news comes as a tremendous shock given that Caufield was on the ice on Friday and everything appear to be relatively normal. That being said it sounds like this may have been an injury that Caufield has been dealing with for a while, although details are not entirely clear at this time.
